Located by the lake in the forest, this is the home of writer Juhani Aho and his wife, painter Venny Soldan-Brofeldt. Today an exhibition comments on their lives and works. Juhani Aho (1861-1921) was the first professional writer in the country. He has been nominated several times for the Nobel Prize for Literature. Fluent in French, he has translated many authors such as Maupassant, Zola... Venny Soldan-Brofeldt (1863-1945) won the bronze medal for his painting Heränneitä at the 1900 exhibition in Paris.
