This village museum traces the history of Eyemouth and its fishing activities, with a major focus on the 1881 disaster, when 189 men died. We discover their harsh daily life, at sea and in their homes. It also offers an exhibition and virtual reality discovery of Fort Eyemouth, built in 1547, destroyed in 1550 and rebuilt in 1557 only to be destroyed again in 1560. There is also a gallery hosting temporary exhibitions. It also serves as a tourist reception point.
