This beautiful harbour house was designed by the architect John Adam in 1753, commissioned by the merchant and smuggler John Nisbet. Today his visit traces the illegal activities of Eyemouth, which was a major North Sea black market dumping ground. Gunsgreen House has been restored to its original setting and offers visitors beautiful interiors, as well as its cellars where the offending goods were hidden. Discover how its architecture conceals secret hiding places! Kids are gonna love dressing up as smugglers...
