A severe storm in 1993 hit this beach on the island of Great Bernera. The bad weather made it possible to excavate an unknown archaeological site in 1996, including four houses from the late Iron Age. The one we can visit now is a reconstruction in their image and reflects the daily life of the people of that time, who lived from fishing, hunting, their crops and seafood.
