An Iron Age village, a broch, a picte village and a Norse village mingle in this captivating and major Shetland site.
It is Shetland's main historical and captivating attraction. Man settled here over 4,000 years ago. Generations have come and gone, improving the dwellings. An Iron Age village, a broch, a Pictish village and a Norse village are intertwined here, as well as the remains of a 15th century mansion built by Patrick Stuart. The visit begins at the Visitors Centre and continues in the heart of the site, which can be explored freely with an audio-guide.
