PARC DE LA SOURCE
Agroforestry park dedicated to promoting the island's natural heritage, with guided tours and private cabins.
Located on the heights of Pigeon, this agroforestry park dedicated to relaxation is built on a former dwelling. It enjoys a superb panoramic view of the Caribbean Sea and the marine reserve. The presence of springs on this site, one of which was the first source of water for the Pigeon sector, gave the idea for its name to its owner, a farmer, who chose to dedicate it to safeguarding and enhancing the island's natural heritage. Various trails lead to the discovery of local flora and fauna, plantations of vanilla, cocoa, coffee and medicinal plants, a Creole garden, natural springs and food crops. Some of the plantations (coffee, cocoa, vanilla, etc.) are available for guided tours. 14 private cabins (reservations required 24 hours in advance) are scattered at the top of the park or along the river, whose course is interrupted by a superb 20-meter-high waterfall. The carbets are ideal for a day out with family or friends, punctuated by a picnic. They are equipped with tables, a bench for 10 people and a barbecue on request. The café-terrace (serving sandwiches, tapas-style plates and drinks) is open to all with no entrance fee. There's also a store selling local crafts. The site offers a wide range of events and activities (see website): zip-lining, yoga and Creole classes, wellness days, escape games, bivouacs...
