CHEKHOV & SAKHALIN MUSEUM

A very interesting museum of history and literature, founded in 1896 and created by prisoners of the katorga, who later became famous Soviet scientists. You will visit six rooms devoted to the preparation of Chekhov's great journey (maps, etc.), reconstructions (19th century colonial and bourgeois houses; furniture, objects, clothes, etc.) and forced labour. Some of the treasures that belonged to the famous writer (his nose clip, among others).
