BAT CHUM
Buddhist temple dating from the century, with inscriptions on the doors in the form of poems praising the builder
This small Buddhist temple was built around the middle of the 10th century by one of the few architects whose name is known, Kavindrarimathana, minister of King Rajendravarman. The three towers in poor condition are the last vestiges of this place which included houses around. Inscriptions are visible on the doors. They are poems praising the builder. Under the foundations of the temple, archaeologists found in 1952 a sandstone yantra (mystical diagram intended for meditation), which would praise the infinite knowledge of the architect of the temple.
