SRAH SRANG
Small, partially drained Bârây showing the ingenuity of Khmer hydrologists, where remains and tools have been found
Dug in the middle of the 10th century on the initiative of Kavindrarimathana, minister of Rajendravarman II, the Srah Srang is small Bârây. It has only partially dried up. One can note the ingenuity of Khmer hydrologists to keep this basin filled with water for nearly 1,000 years. As for the Mebon, it seems that a sanctuary was located in its center. Numerous remains and tools were found during excavations conducted by Bernard-Philippe Groslier in the early 1960s: probably the remains of the labor camps that worked on the baray.
