Unfortunately, there is not much left of this small sandstone monument located north of the western gate of Angkor Wat, just after the many merchants' stands facing it. Built towards the end of the 12th century by Jayavarman VII, its architecture links it with that of the Bayon. It was probably one of 102 hospices created by the king to treat the sick of his kingdom free of charge. It is not essential to stop there, but can be done in ten minutes if there are too many people at the entrance to Angkor Wat.
