PRASAT SUOR PRAT
Twelve small Hindu shrines or rope dancers' towers, visible from the Royal Palace Terraces.
This set of twelve small Hindu shrines, nicknamed "the towers of the string dancers", probably dates from the reign of Indravarman II (13th century). They are visible from the Royal Palace Terraces. Cheou Ta Kouan suggests that they served as a "judgment of God", and that citizens who had serious disputes were put on top of the towers until one of them (the offender, of course) felt bad. Some of the towers were in such bad shape that they had to be completely renovated in the early 2000s.
