KROL DAMREI
A simple, bucolic elephant enclosure, similar to a bullring, inviting visitors to discover the daily life that was organized in Angkor
This totally ignored, simple and bucolic elephant enclosure, which looks a bit like an arena, is a welcome stop on the site. To get there, one must leave the northern gate of Angkor Thom in the direction of Preah Khan; 500 meters before the temple, a track marked by a sign goes into the jungle and leads to the enclosure. The visit is quick, but still very interesting to understand how daily life was organized in Angkor: the canals to evacuate the waste water after the elephants' toilet are still visible.
