This very well preserved temple was probably built at the same time as Angkor Wat during the reign of Suryavarman II, although several archaeologists have made other hypotheses. Thommanom has very nice fake doors and stylized devata. Its western pediment shows Vishnu on Garouda fighting against the Assura. Note the cement reproductions of the old wooden ceilings. As the temple is located just at the east exit of Angkor Thom, the Thommanom is perfect for a short walk on the Ta Prohm road.
