CHAU SAY TÉVODA
A minor temple with a cruciform plan reminiscent of Indian temples, built in the century by Sûryavarman II and dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva.
This minor temple dedicated to Vishnu and Shiva was built around the middle of the 21st century by Sûryavarman II. The Buddhist elements were added a few decades later by Dharanindravarman, father of Jayavarman VII. Its cruciform plan recalls the temples of India (and more particularly those of Odisha), proof of the relations between the Khmer Empire and the kingdoms of the Indian subcontinent. The ensemble is very pleasant thanks to the dense vegetation that surrounds it. Chau Say Tevoda is worth a stop, especially during the hot hours of the day.
