BENG MEALEA
Hindu temple built by Suryavarman II, modelled on Angkor Wat and depicting scenes from the Ramayana.
Built in the 12th century by the ruler Suryavarman II, archaeologists believe that this Hindu temple served as a model for Angkor Wat. Some beautiful scenes from the Ramayana are found on the bas-reliefs, such as Sita in the fire testing her innocence. Indeed, after Ram had delivered her, the king accused her of having been made impure by the demon Ravana. To prove that she was still worthy of the king, she threw herself alive into a funeral pyre, and emerged intact. The temple was used as a set by Jean-Jacques Annaud for the film Two Brothers.

Temple superbe avec la nature qui prend le dessus sur la pierre.
Le temple est assez déconstruit et des amas de pierres se succède mais donne tout le charme à ce temple.
On se prendrai pour Indiana jones!
