Workshop to revive and pass on an ancestral Cambodian skill: hand-weaving silk
In the small village of Bantey Chhmar, the Soieries du Mékong production workshop employs about a hundred craftsmen from the region and fights against the rural exodus. Their action is focused on the revalorization and transmission of an ancestral know-how in Cambodia: hand weaving silk on traditional looms.
The production workshop includes all the steps except weaving, which is generally done at home.

L'atelier des "Soieries du Mékong" mérite une visite si vous allez jusqu'à Banteay Chhmar ! Panneaux explicatifs en français et anglais, personnel disponible pour répondre aux questions... En haut, boutique proposant leurs écharpes à prix d'usine.
