A gastronomic festival based on the use of Dasheen (the Taro root which sometimes turns blue) in all its forms.
The Tobago Blue Food Festival has been held annually for the past two decades, and the focus is on dasheen (taro). The blue root dasheen is a vegetable, and during the festival it is prepared to be eaten for aperitifs, main courses, desserts and liqueurs. As well as sampling the range of dishes made with dasheen, participants can attend various cooking demonstrations and competitions, while listening to popular local artists.
