Louise Kimme was a German artist who lived in the small village of Bethel since 1979. A sculptor by trade, she carved strange wooden figures out of oak or cedar, the largest of which were 3 meters high, painted in bright colors and representing characters from local folklore or dancers. Died in 2013, his house, nicknamed The Castle, is now guarded by his trusted man, a Cuban artist named Dunieski who will be happy to show you the place. It is advisable to call ahead.
