The Meteora Trails website details, in English and with maps, 14 hiking trails across the Meteora, mainly starting from Kalambaka, but also from Kastraki. These marked itineraries can be combined to visit monasteries open to the public and other panoramic sites (abandoned monasteries, aqueducts...). A good idea for avoiding access roads and crowded parking lots in season. Please note that the site excludes certain trails that have become dangerous due to landslides caused by earthquakes in 2021.

Séjourner aux Météores est un vrai bonheur. La visite des monastères est passionnante et le cadre invite à la balade. Un conseil : montez en bus collectif, les horaires sont disponibles aux campings par exemple, et redescendez à pied, à l'ombre des arbres. Regardez bien à vos pieds, vous y découvrirez sans doute la tortues terrestres qui abondent dans le secteur.

The site " Les Météores " is an exceptional place in Greece, the monasteries were built at the top of large rock masses. They are Christian orthodox monasteries. The only access route to the monasteries at the time was done with baskets and ropes. The place was used as a film for one of the films " James Bond ".
