CHURCH OF THE VISITATION
The episode of the Visitation recalls the visit of Mary to her cousin Elizabeth, when they were both pregnant. The church that stands today was built between 1865 and 1955 on ruins from the Byzantine and Crusader periods. The outer facades are decorated with frescoes in honour of the Virgin Mary. The verses of the Magnificat are engraved on the columns with, on the opposite wall, the hymn in forty-two languages. The interior of the building is decorated with frescoes on the theme of the Visitation and the life of Mary.
