LATIJNSE SCHOOL
School where Rembrandt van Rijn was educated between 1616 and 1620 in Leiden
Rembrandt van Rijn attended the Latin School between 1616 and 1620, where all classes were taught in Latin, the language spoken by everyone. Rembrandt took his first drawing lessons from Henricus Rieverlinck. The school provided a general education in preparation for further study. It was here that Rembrandt learned to draw. You can't visit the school, but an ingenious animation allows you to be drawn by Rembrandt as you look out of the window. You'll be able to download the print the very next day!
