KENNETT UNDERGROUND RAILROAD TOURS
Volunteer tours run by bus and last between 1:30 a. m. and 2:00 a. m. You will learn more about the development of Underground Railroad in Kennett Square, and why the city has become an important hub on these underground slave routes to the north of the United States. You will pass through houses that belonged to abolitionists and discover who their occupants were. Finally, you will mark a stop at the Kennett Center Railroad Museum, which was the abolitionist Eusebius Bernard residence, where you will find some explanatory signs. The rest of the year, when guided tours do not take place, do not hesitate to stop at the Tourist Center to collect brochures detailing the city's various points of interest related to the Underground Railroad.
