UPPER CANADA VILLAGE
A tour that is a magical experience and transports you back to 1860's Morrisburg.
A visit to Upper Canada Village is a magical experience that takes you back to the 1860s. Some forty authentic buildings form a hamlet in which activities are carried out with incredible attention to detail: tinsmith's shop, woollen mill, printer's shop, school, sawmill, steam mill, broom maker's workshop, taverns and stables. One is struck by the realism of the place and the extraordinary attention to historical accuracy of the reconstruction. Amongst the costumed extras, Laura Ingalls is expected to show up at any moment. In these fascinating places, the day passes in the blink of an eye! In addition, throughout the season, on-site programs give children and teens the opportunity to learn about the past through a variety of activities, conducted in the 1860s style. For the less fearful: the haunted visit of the village which takes place in the evening by the light of lanterns (end of June to end of August).
Upper Canada Village has many dining and shopping options on site, and overnight accommodation, room service and camping are also available. The regular season runs from early May to mid-September. However, the site is also open during other seasons at fixed periods (a different rate applies off-season as well as during special events such as the Medieval Festival in June, Pumpkinferno in October and Alight at Night in December). An unmistakable one!
