A mountain to visit for a great adventure, with a crater and lakes, excellent physical condition required for the ascent.
Rinjani is a must-see. Most travellers stop at the crater to observe the lake, at around 2,700 metres, but the summit is at 3,726 metres. If you wish to continue, you'll need to be in good physical condition, with good walking shoes and a little motivation. Due to the rainy season, the volcano is closed from November to March. Departure is from Senaru, Sembalun or Tetebatu. Generally speaking, the climb takes 2 or 3 days. It is essential to use a local agency to organize your experience.
