EGLISE SAINT-MARTIN ET CHAPELLE N-D DE PITIE
Magnificent Renaissance chapel in Orne, set at the top of a flight of stairs
Situated at the top of a flight of stairs, it is one of the finest Renaissance chapels in the Orne region. The west side, the most remarkable, features a wooden door carved in 1895 by Abbé Charles Vingtier, who also designed the confessionals in the village's Saint-Martin church. Above the lintel, a niche houses a statue of Notre-Dame-de-Pitié, as does the high altar. The 16th-century stained glass windows, with their canopied scenes, are typical of the Renaissance style.
