PONTOON HOUSE
This listed manor house stands in the heart of the Réno-Valdieu forest
The Pontgirard manor house, a former 16th century manor house, stands in the heart of the Réno-Valdieu forest. Classified as a Historic Monument, it belonged to a master of forges. Transformed at the end of the reign of Louis XIV, French-style gardens were planted there in the 18th century on several terraces. Landscape gardener Thierry Hay has more recently revisited them in contemporary gardens: a magnificent success where rare plants, climbers, aquatic varieties mix with a bicentenary lime tree and a beautiful Percheron architecture. As you stroll down the aisles, you will breathe in a thousand flavours: lavender, absinthe, and even fennel!
