CHIESA DI SAN BERNARDINO
Small Renaissance church with a cycle of frescoes on the partition wall.
Nestled among the industrial architecture of the old Olivetti district, this small Renaissance church is well worth a visit, but you'll need to plan ahead. Once part of a vast Bernardine convent, the building dates back to the 15th century. The cycle of 21 frescoes on the dividing wall, painted by Gian Martino Spanzotti in vibrant colors and dynamic composition, depicts the Life and Passion of Christ. The work, painted between 1485 and 1490, is divided into different panels around the central painting of the Crucifixion.
