CASA CAVASSA
Superb aristocratic house housing a museum with collections of beautiful objects.
A superb example of a 16th century aristocratic dwelling, Casa Cavassa is the symbol of Renaissance architecture in Saluzzo. In 1885 the Marquis Emanuele Tapparelli d'Azeglio took charge of its restoration and bought furniture from the area that could recreate the setting of a period residence. Since then, Casa Cavassa has been home to the Municipal Museum. The collections include some very beautiful objects, furniture and paintings, including the Virgin of Mercy (1499) flooded with a profusion of gold and the Works of Hercules (1511) by the painter Hans Clemer.
