SINAGOGA E MUSEI EBRAICI
Synagogue with a small museum of contemporary art by young Jewish artists
In the heart of the former Jewish ghetto, the Casale synagogue was built in 1595 and completely remodeled between 1853 and 1866. The façade may not look like much, but the interior is richly decorated with paintings and gilded stucco. Accessible via the women's section, the Museum of Jewish Art and Ancient History houses sacred vestments from the 17th and 18th centuries, as well as objects from the daily life of the community. Also worth a visit is the Museo dei Lumi, a small museum of contemporary art by young Jewish artists.
