Sulphurous water source at 70°C located almost in the city center
Acqui's sulfurous water has been used in the region's thermal baths since ancient times. Right in the town center, at the end of via Saracco, the Bollente (Boiling) is a source of 70°C sulphurous water. Further south are the ancient thermal baths, among the largest in Italy, near the remains of the Roman aqueduct that brought water from the Erro torrent to the heart of the city. As for the modern thermal baths, they are located almost in the town center. The more recent Fontana delle Ninfee gushes over several levels in 31 illuminated pools.
