DUOMO DI NOVARA
Neoclassical temple with imposing stucco columns and Renaissance paintings from the 16th century.
A grandiose neoclassical temple in the centre of the town, built on the site of a previous Romanesque church, of which only the bell tower, the cloister, the oratory of San Siro and some fragments of mosaic flooring remain. Designed by the architect Alessandro Antonelli between 1863 and 1869, the building has a scenic façade preceded by a pronaos with Corinthian columns in granite, and with a quadripartite portico. The interior has imposing stucco columns and Renaissance paintings from the 16th century.
