BROLETTO
A building of different eras exhibiting a panorama of Italian art of the first half of the twentieth century.
The Broletto (a term used to describe the municipal palace in the Middle Ages) is made up of buildings from different periods, perfectly integrated within the square courtyard. The oldest building is the Palazzo dell'Arengo (1206) where the consuls dispensed justice. Along Via Rosselli, the Palazzo del Podestà (1346) is decorated with 16th-century frescoes. On its right, Palazzo dei Paratici was the seat of a guild of craftsmen. It is home to the Paolo and Adele Giannoni Gallery, which exhibits a panorama of Italian art from the first half of the 20th century.
