There needs to be better communication between staff and the yoga studio. I showed up and paid all before 10:00AM, I was turned away had to ask for a refund and replan my morning.
I was very much looking forward to this now it soured the idea to come again.

I spent three nights at this hotel. For the first few days all went well (although it should be noted only the bedrooms are air conditioned and not the other rooms). The bar, restaurant, spa and concierge staff were very good. Here is where the hotel turned into a one star nightmare. On my last full day at the hotel, the electricity went out about 2:30 pm. They had a generator but it was broke and useless. At dark (5:30 pm) we lit candles in the living room area. Free food was offered and we accepted. Then we were asked if we would like some free “sushi”. When the sushi arrived, I took one piece and noted it tasted very fishy. The lights finally came back on around 8:30 pm. I went to sleep. We had a bus coming at 7:00 am to take us to a boat to another destination. When I awoke I was severely sick. I was throwing up and had incessant diarrhea. I was on the toilet when the bus arrived. My family went to the bus and I said I would come. I don’t want to get too graphic here so let’s just say I was uncontrollably sick and left a small mess on the bathroom floor. I was now 15 minutes late, severely incapacitated, and about to miss the bus and the boat. I was physically unable to clean the restroom and very late for the bus and was barely able to walk to the bus. When I got to the bus, I asked my daughter to get me some medicine. When my daughter went to the hotel office seeking some medicine, the reservations manager (?) was there and demanded that I come to the office to check out. When my daughter returned to the bus and told me what the lady said, I was going to try and walk to the office. However, the bus operator looked at his watch and said we had to go as there were other people waiting for the bus and trying to get to the boat. So we had to leave immediately. I had given the hotel my credit card when I checked in so I saw no harm as they could simply charge my credit card if necessary.
Later that day, I learned that the hotel emailed my Costa Rican travel agent with photos of a burn on a table in the villa we were at and a photo of the mess on the floor in the bathroom. Apparently, the hotel management assumed that we burned the table and left the bathroom mess on purpose to get even with them because they didn’t give us a discount for the last night’s stay, which had been discussed the day before because of the lack of electricity. They also thought that I was trying to run out on the hotel because of the damage and mess, because I never came to check out. I was furious. I could not believe that the hotel sent my travel agent a photo of my mess on the floor. That was extremely private and embarrassing. Moreover, I would not have made a mess if I had not gotten sick from their rotten sushi that they should have known was no good since it had been sitting without refrigeration for hours. The burned table resulted from us lighting a candle provided by the hotel, which was sitting on a wooden tray provided by the hotel and placed on a table. The candle burned through the tray and into the table causing some damage to the table. How was that my fault ? They gave us the candle, placed it on the wood tray and table and didn’t provide electricity. So, it became my fault that the candle burnt through the tray onto the table.
When I found out the hotel had sent the photos to my travel agent and told her I was a terrible person. I called the hotel concierge. I told her exactly what had happened and why I was not able to check out. I gave them the opportunity to apologize to me. Instead, immediately thereafter, the hotel called my travel agent and defended their position. They have never once reached out to me personally.
The hotel management turned what could have been a pleasant experience into a nightmare. They have no tact and obviously have no concern nor respect for their guests. They assumed the worst, stabbed me in my back, and doubled down by sending very embarrassing photos to my travel agent. This hotel does not deserve anyone’s hard earned money. (The hotel laundry also lost two shirts).

We had a great experience at Flor Blanca Hotel. We’re always in touch with nature and a stunning beach. The reception, concierge and restaurant staff (Eugenia, Efra, Graciela, Yuri…) was always attentive and kind. Thank you, guys! In summary, it was a very comfortable and amazing experience.

Our family spent six days in July at Flor Blanca in Santa Theresa. What an amazing place to wrap up a fourteen day Costa Rican vacation. We stayed in three other great places while we we toured the Northern parts of Costa Rica and Flor Blanca was our favorite.
The beach to the north and south of Flor Blanca is an amazing white sand beach. Over several days, we were often the only people around. The surfing was great. The water was warm.
Flor Blanca's rooms are amazing. The living area features outdoor living. The ktichen/dining area sits above the surf as it crashes the shoreline.
Service at Flor Blanca was tops. The restaraunt has some of the best sushi we found during our days touring Costa Rica. The bar was amazing and plenty of wildlife to amuse the family.
I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants an amazing location for their stay, amazing service, beach views, and something a bit different. I read up on Flor Blanca before we traveled and some of the reviews were 'negative' based upon the outdoor living rooms (and bathrooms). If you know what you are doing heading into the stay at this resort, I wonder how you could complain about monkeys and other wildlife visiting the outdoor living spaces at night. For our family, this was part of the adventure and charm during our stay.
Highly recommend this place!

Stayed nearby but visited for dinner and yoga. Both teachers were divine. The yoga classes were some of my favorite parts of the trip. Seared tuna for dinner was delicious! Great staff

Amazing restaurant. Probably the best in santa teresa. We found the place by accident during our walk on the beach. They have an amazing sunset view. It was Saturday and the had bbq dinner: grilled lobsters, meat, fish, potato, vegetables, all you can imagine. Welcome drink and dessert weee included. The price for dinner was 60$, what is not much for santa teresa. The food was delicious!! They also had nice musicians. It was an amazing food experience, beautiful view, nice atmosphere. Go for it ❤️

Very surprised and shocked to see anything below a 5 star review for Florblanca. My husband and I have had the blessing of visiting beautiful, very expensive and very gorgeous hotels all around the world, and by far, Florblanca is our top favorite. It won’t be your typical “all inclusive” “resort” like the ones in Mexico, it’s a boutique hotel and it’s exclusively private - which makes it sooo much more charming, romantic, beautiful, and truly the BEST hotel we’ve ever stayed at. If you want to be apart of nature and feel close to the sounds of the jungle, the ocean, the aroma and energy of Costa Rica, then this place is for you. It’s Costa Rica, of course there will be animals and insects, but that’s what makes it so much more exciting and amazing. Going off the other lower reviews — Yes the living room is open, but how lovely to be so close to nature and hear it all the time. It’s my favorite part! And if you want more privacy, the bedroom is completely closed and it has its AC if you need it. The staff is the friendliest we’ve ever encountered - so genuine and the service is wonderful, especially at the restaurant, the food is soooo good and delicious (the sushi is unreal and I am Japanese saying this). We came here for our honeymoon 5 years ago and we couldn’t stop dreaming about Florblanca so we came back for my birthday and baby moon! (And that’s a lot of travel for being pregnant - took 3 flights and a long taxi, which I would say is the only downside) Second time coming back, and I’d say it’s better than before (which I didn’t think was possible). I could say more and more about Florblanca, I really love it to my heart and soul, it’s such a beautiful representation of the island and its beautiful culture and people. We are hoping to come again when our son is born so he can experience the love that we have for it too.

Tldr: don't waste your money here, book somewhere else.
Through a series of events at our original hotel my wife and I got rebooked here last second. When we arrived our fears of past reviews were realized. This hotel is not up to par... There was nobody at the front desk to greet us when we arrived, when we eventually did get to our room there was a big spider on the toilet (like nobody had been there in a few days), the entire bathroom and living area is open to the outdoors and as a result all the fixtures are corroded being so close to the ocean. The mini-fridge has a padlock on it to keep out raccoons and we were told to keep all food locked up at night. There were lots of cobwebs under the bed. Walking around the facility the pool was murky and there didn't really seem to be anybody around in general. The only real perk of this place in our opinion was its location being on the beach. For the money it's not worth it... nothing like the pictures
We spent 3 hours here booking a new room at Nantipa down the road, significantly nicer amenities, downtown location, and service.
