Sikinos is very difficult to access. On the one hand, the connections for Athens and the other islands are few, including from the very close Ios. And on the other hand, when the sea is agitated and the meltemi blows too strong, the ferries and above all the pinnacles do not address Sikinos. Without being too frequent, this happens several times in the season. So be careful if you have a plane or a correspondence to take.
Athens-Sikinos. In summer, only 4 ferries per week from Piraeus (7 h to 9 h drive) and only one hydoglisseur per week (3 h 40).
Links with other islands. Ios, Folegandros, Milos and Santorini are the best served islands. Other Islands: Kimolos, Sifnos, Sérifos, Anafi, Naxos, Thirassia and Paros.
Excursions since Ios. Caïques sometimes offer one day excursion on Sikinos (when the sea is good).
Yachting. The port of the island is very exposed to the wind. To supply you with water and petrol, you must go to Ios. Between Sikinos and Folegandros, there are several rocky islets.
