Basilica dedicated entirely to the Virgin Mary, depicting episodes from her life.
Just a stone's throw from the cathedral, this neo-Gothic Marian basilica boasts a carved wooden choir depicting episodes in the life of the Virgin Mary, statuary by the sculptor Leharivel-Durocher, a Way of the Cross, and stained glass windows by Maréchal and Champigneulle. Built between 1854, the year Pope Pius IX proclaimed the dogma of the Immaculate Conception, and 1872, it was designed by architect Ruprich Robert.
