Notre-Dame de Sées Cathedral, a jewel of the Norman Gothic style, was rebuilt in 1210.

Built in the5th century, the cathedral was destroyed and then rebuilt. It was reborn in 1210 in the Norman Gothic style. The Latin cross plan, the three-level elevation with window gallery on the 2nd floor, the triforium network above the arcades, the nave with its ribbed crossbeams, the series of pointed arches enhanced by triple tracery and the rose windows celebrating the Resurrection accentuate the effect of unity. A true vessel of light!

Chef d'œuvre gothique dans lequel, on peut voir quelques vitraux des 13ème et 14ème siècles. Détruite par un incendie au milieu du 11ème siècle, reconstruite au 12ème siècle, à nouveau endommagée pendant la guerre de 100 ans et vandalisée pendant la Révolution, elle fût restaurée à la fin du 18ème siècle grâce à l'intervention de l'Evêque d'Agentré. Une visite incontournable.
