Volcano in Nikia where to observe craters and access the bottom.
You can see five craters, the largest of which, Stefano, is 260 m in diameter and 60 m deep. A small staircase leads to the bottom of the crater. The last notable activity dates back to 1933 (the last eruption was some 15,000 years ago, i.e. only recently in geological time), but the monster constantly emits multicolored fumaroles and the smell of sulfur is omnipresent. It takes around 40 minutes to cross the crater. Avoid the hottest hours of the day: it's hot as hell in this scorched bowl!
