Beaches located near Aghios Kirikos, accessible by caïque
The most beautiful beaches of the south can be reached from Aghios Kirikos, either by boat or by road. This is the case of the beaches located in the southeast of the island: following the coastal road, you can swim on the small pebble beaches of Kotsambi, Tsoukala, Sirtiko, the closest to the capital of the island, then in the thermal waters of the rocks of Lefkada. Beyond comes the long azure expanse of Xilosirtis, dominated by the pretty village of the same name and then the road rises before launching into the northern lands. A small fork in the road that goes back to the south and the sea leads to the Seychelles beach, one of the most beautiful on the island. Park at the tunnel, just after passing through it, and then walk downhill for about 15 minutes to reach this beach with turquoise waters. It is this exceptional color that has earned it the nickname of the beach of the Seychelles. The walk is not too strenuous but you will still need closed shoes and a bit of physical fitness, especially when going up! At the arrival, there is no shade or refreshment, so remember to take the necessary with you and to cover yourself well. Be careful too: the creek is not big and can fill up quickly in season. So come as early as possible, especially in the middle of summer. An alternative to consider if you don't want to go down the rocks to the beach: a caïque goes back and forth between the village of Magganitis and the beach during the season (8 € each way).
