BEACHES

You can swim in the clear waters of the port of Nimborios: ladders are placed everywhere on the quays to facilitate swimming. As you leave the village, you will discover beautiful beaches within walking distance.

Podamos is the nearest beach to Nimborio and is just a 10-minute walk away. It is the only sandy area on the island. You will find a good tavern, a beach bar and some deckchairs and parasols for rent. It is a beach appreciated by families and quite popular because it is close to the village, organized and sandy.

Ftenagia, 10 minutes walk south of the port, beyond the lighthouse, is a pretty cobbled cove where you will find a good tavern and some deckchairs and parasols. Less frequented than the previous one, you can spend quiet days there.

Kania Beach is located north of Nimborio, about 35 minutes walk. It is also connected by bus in summer, for those who are less keen on walking. This beautiful cove of small pebbles offers magnificent waters. A very good tavern also rents deckchairs and parasols.

The beaches of Trachea and Yali, located south of Horio, are less easily accessible. It takes 20 and 30 minutes respectively to walk from Horio, about an hour from Nimborio. Very little frequented and wild, you will be alone on beautiful pebble coves with crystal clear waters. Trachea has one particularity: it is actually two back-to-back cracks, which create a narrow isthmus.
