AGHIOS NIKOLAOS CHURCH
Church dedicated to Saint Nicholas, with the highest bell tower in the Dodecanese.
It will necessarily be in your pictures of the island. Built in 1861, you will not be able to miss the main church of Nimborio: its bell tower is indeed the highest in the Dodecanese! The courtyard and the entire square are decorated with beautiful mosaics of black and white pebbles, characteristic of the region. Upstairs, a small diocesan museum displays liturgical vestments and other elements of the rite celebrated in the churches of the island. The church is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of fishermen and sailors. A big celebration is being held on December 6.
