Next to the Maison Marengo restaurant, this coconut museum, all wood and palm fronds, opened in 2023. It's an interesting little visit to learn more about this fruit so important to the archipelago and the rest of the Indian Ocean. For before the rise of tourism, up until around 1960, coconut growing was a fundamental pillar of the Seychelles economy. The country could produce up to 50,000 tonnes a year, to be processed into copra and oil and exported to Europe and Asia.
