A remarkable glacier west of Smithers, a perfect address for hikers.
8 kilometres west of Smithers, turn at Hudson Bay Mountain Lookout to see the glacier (before it melts). If you're in good shape for a 3-hour hike, you can follow the Glacier Gulch Trail to the Kathlyn Glacier. To access this trail, follow Highway 16 west towards "Twin Falls and Glacier Gulch". Once there, it is recommended not to venture onto the glacier and to observe it from a distance. This hike is rather difficult and requires some precautions.
