The stolovaïa Zolotoï Kolos ("golden spike") is a mythical canteen in the centre of Rostov, which also (and above all) makes pastries. It is one of those cult and family institutions with an old-fashioned chic around which the citizens' feelings of belonging and attachment to Soviet cities have revolved. The savoury dishes are nothing exceptional, but everything is very cheap. It is ideal for a quick lunch between two visits and of course, for a snack!
