Boubandjida National Park is located on the border with Chad. Halfway between Ngaoundéré and Garoua, it is accessible by road and track. The park is home to antelopes, panthers and hyenas. There are also hippos, buffalo and over 300 species of birds. Tourists are accompanied by a local guide and a park ranger, each of whom pays 5,000 FCFA per day, at the visitor's expense.
