One of Cameroon's largest parks, the 180,000-hectare Bénoué National Park is an excellent wildlife reserve, home to a wide variety of fauna. Among the park's animals are antelopes, baboons, hippos, monkeys, warthogs... Giraffes and elephants are also present in the park, but are rather difficult to observe. The park is visible from the road between N'Gaoundéré and Garoua.
