Rare animal species include the Aleppo pine park (mouflons, mountain gazelles, wild cats, but also kebab and wild boar). A total of 24 mammal and 16 reptile and amphibian species, as well as regional plant groups (100 species). It stretches over 6 000 hectares and contains the highest peak in Tunisia (1 500 m).
