THE CAVE OF NUESTRA SEÑORA DE BEGOÑA
Small open-air grotto built by Julian Reyzabal in 1952, which became a place to celebrate the Eucharist and weddings
The grotto of Nuestra Señora de Begoña is a small open-air grotto built by Julian Reyzabal in 1952. This fervent devotee of the Virgen de Begoña decided to erect a shrine in her honor. In 2002, the Bishop of Madrid officially designated the site as a place for prayer and the celebration of the Eucharist. Masses are said from time to time, but weddings are the most popular. In fact, the place lends itself perfectly to contemplation and spirituality.
