Monastery with cloisters and altarpiece, the first convent built during the reign of Castile and with different architectural styles
The Paular monastery, whose construction was ordered by John I of Castile in 1390, is believed to be the first convent built under the reign of Castile. It took over 50 years to build, and underwent several renovations. As a result, the Paular was built in several architectural styles, including Baroque and Gothic. You can visit the Paular every day, and enjoy the cloisters, the altarpiece and the library.
