DOMAINE BARRANCO OSCURO
This Andalusian estate, perched 1,368 meters above sea level on the Contraviesa mountain range, south of Granada and facing the Mediterranean Sea, is the highest vineyard in Europe. Manuel Valenzuela, a pioneer of organic wines in Spain, cultivates 12 hectares of vines without chemical fertilizers and produces natural wines like his Barranco Oscuro Garnata, a red wine made from 100% Grenache. This wine, named after the old spelling of the village of Granada, offers notes of red fruit jam and perfectly controlled tannins.
