CENTRE DE VISITEURS EL DORNAJO
The Sierra Nevada, located between the south-east of Granada and the western tip of Almería, is an area of outstanding natural beauty. Comprising the national park and the natural park of the same name, it offers contrasting landscapes and exceptional biodiversity. The highest peak on the Iberian Peninsula, Mount Mulhacén, is located here. Visitors can admire glacial valleys, deciduous and holm oak forests, and rivers lined with riparian forests. The fauna is equally rich, with the presence of birds such as the alpine flycatcher and the dipper, as well as mammals such as the wild boar and the ibex. Mountain sports enthusiasts will be delighted, with activities such as skiing, mountaineering and hiking. The white villages of the Alpujarra, with their traditional architecture, are also places not to be missed.
